This Yin Yoga class will incorporate seated and supine asanas, similar to Hatha Yoga, but the poses are held longer to encourage muscle relaxation, a release of the deep connective tissues and an opening of the joints. The Yin practice is passive and does not include standing or balancing poses and over time will increase range of motion, facilitate relaxation and help prepare the mind and body for meditation.
Debbie has been enjoying Yoga since her early teens and has felt the positive benefits of the practice throughout her life. After raising her children, she decided to share her passion with others by receiving her Yoga Teacher Training Certification through Physical Yoga.
Subsequently, she has furthered her studies with The Yoga Studio College of Canada, expanding her knowledge of the Iyengar style of Yoga. This particular branch of Yoga concentrates on precise alignment in poses and the use of props to help make the practice accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Most recently she has delved into Yin Yoga, a style which helps the practitioner safely move the stretch further into the joints and connective tissues, enhancing flexibility and facilitating a deep sense of emotional and physical well-being.
Debbie is enthusiastic about introducing people to the practice of Yoga and finds great satisfaction in observing the delicate blossoming of Mind, Body and Spirit.
"The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life." (B.K.S Iyengar)

Step, 1 Minute Sculpt, Iron Reps, and Yoga are just a few of the classes that I have enjoyed teaching over the past 10 years. I have been fortunate to have attended many great fitness conferences and workshops over the years and enjoy sharing this information with my clients. I love a great workout and have always considered fitness as my ‘fun job’ and it’s so gratifying to share that passion with others and watch them find strength they didn’t know they had.
As a child I was always physically active, and even with this involvement I have always struggled with my weight. It is something that I can relate to when I work with clients who are struggling to lose weight and make the lifestyle changes necessary to maintain what they have accomplished. I enjoy sharing tips and suggestions on what I have learned over the years and love to see someone transform not only their body but their life!
Now that I have two young children it has only reinforced my commitment to living a healthy lifestyle. With this shift in priorities I am very excited to now be able to do my ‘fun job’ as my regular job. I firmly believe that finding the motivation to make some changes is the first and biggest step in achieving your goals and love to help provide that motivation to my clients and put the fun back into their fitness routine. Whether you are new to the gym and looking for some help or are looking for a new way to challenge your body I would love to help.

This restorative class uses yoga poses to gently release tight joints and ease away muscle tension. There is also a guided relaxation section designed to improve sleep habits, relieve fatigue and reduce stress. It’s a perfect way to refresh the mind and body and bring balance to life.
Stacey, a former club trainer with Spa Lady, has been involved in a multitude of sports and physical activities throughout her life including ballet, jazz, baton, gymnastics, Hip Hop, swimming, tennis, ringette, basketball (yes, this five foot instructor even made the varsity basketball team), tae kwon do, softball and excelled in soccer. Becoming a Fitness Instructor seemed like a natural progression.
Formerly an Investment Advisor, Stacey changed her career path and focus to health and wellness to spend more time with her two daughters, Brittney and Delainey. Throughout this process, Stacey has obtained AFLCA certifications in Group and Resistance Training and has also achieved Yoga and Pilates certifications.
Stacey writes regular articles for her community paper, volunteers as a Fitness Instructor for a moms group, trains community teams, has been a motivational speaker for health and wellness in her community, has taught Stress Reduction and Life Improvement Workshops for women and, until recently, owned her own fitness and wellness studio for women.
Even with Stacey’s experience with many gyms in Winnipeg, Sherwood Park and Edmonton, she insists that Spa Lady offers the absolute best Group Fitness Instructors backed with strong leadership and support; thereby, providing the best quality of instruction for their members. “There is not another place I’d rather be teaching.”
A traditional aerobics class that combines great cardio with muscle sculpting for a truly balanced workout. A range of impact and intensity options are offered to cater for beginners to intermediates.
Cheryl has been instructing Spa Lady member's for 18 years. She is a strong believer that we need to integrate everything we do to match our lifestyles. Once or twice a year, Cheryl runs an eight-week lifestyle challenge that helps women exchange one lifestyle for a better one. This has been quite successful for those members wishing for a change but not knowing how to do it. The lifestyle instruction is there each week as she teaches her participants how to achieve goals and maintain them.
Cheryl also understands about a busy life as she has two daughters who are deeply involved in soccer but thinks that a balance can always be attained. She has always stressed that as women we need to take care of ourselves as nobody else will do it for us.
Doing aerobics with familiar faces is also a bonus when you attend Cheryl's class, as some of the members have been participants for many years. She has had many women who have become friends outside of the club after attending the class. It is where ladies come together to laugh, live and love.
One of her favorite sayings is, "To the world you may be only one person but to one person you may be the world."
