3, 2, 1 is a mix of muscle, cardio and abdominals. We will perform 3 minutes of muscle, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abdominals and repeat this over and over to create a super calorie-busting workout. This time-efficient program creates amazing results and is suitable for all levels.
My name is Leslie Walsh, and I am an AFLCA certified Group Fitness Instructor and RYT Yoga Instructor. I am also a Personal Trainer and the co-coordinator for the WEM group exercise program. I have been teaching for SPA LADY since 1995 and I love every minute of it! The ladies/members are fantastic and have kept ME motivated all these years! With 3 daughters at home, I realize the importance of balancing work, family and fitness. My passion is in helping you to get fit with a balanced workout while focusing on a strong foundation. I am so fortunate to be working in an environment, with so many positive and energetic people, and I am very fortunate to be doing what I love to do!
A calm and focused yoga class that concentrates on precision and alignment whilst using props to accommodate individuals. Improves balance, static strength and flexibility, whilst calming the mind and relieving stress.

My name is Karen and I teach Zumba. A few years ago a friend said I should try this Zumba class I had heard about. I was doubtful, did not think it would be much of a workout. But, I decided to give it a try and after one class I was hooked! A few months later, I decided to become an instructor.
Having been involved in dance all my life, it seemed like a natural fit for me. I began my dance training as a child with tap and jazz for several years, Ukrainian and Highland for two days (did not care much for those). I began to feel real passion for dance when I studied Hawaiian and Polynesian dance as a teenager and after twelve years, I was part of a small professional dance troupe. Sadly, my co-dancers decided to start families and our group broke up after a few years. Several years later I discovered Middle Eastern dance and was hooked all over again. I have been studying now for over ten years and dance professionally at private parties, weddings and events. I have also trained in the martial arts for fourteen years and currently hold a third degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate and I have been an instructor at Neil Dunnigan Karate School for seven of those years. To keep me busy, I have trained in and completed two sprint triathlons, and four marathons. I finally decided it was time for me to share my passion for both dance and fitness with the wonderful ladies at the gym where I spent many of my years as a member. I am now a certified group fitness leader with the AFLCA and hold Zumba certifications in Basic 1, 2, Gold and Toning. I also enjoy stepping in to sub Knockout, Iron Reps and Step. I believe that fitness should be accessible to, and fun for everyone, and I encourage everyone to dream of the success you want and take those brave first steps to make it happen.
It is all about the Party! – Dance, shake and groove away calories in a fun dance style aerobic class that is designed to be a party! It is for everyone and it is fun, fun fun!!!

I have been with SPA LADY since 1993, as a group fitness instructor and now recently club coordinator of our Century Park location. What motivates me is our members; their energy, their ability to overcome setbacks and to take that next step to their goal(s). Whatever that goal may be, I want to be there to help them achieve it. If it is just to step foot into one of our classes, that can be huge for them. Once they are in they are hooked. I am a better instructor because of them, our members challenge me to grow and develop my skills as an educator of fitness. I attend workshops, courses and education days to bring new information and workouts to them. That way we are all growing together in this industry.
I have been trained to teach a variety of styles. I enjoy teaching all of them; high/low, step, knockout, strength, bootcamp, Pilates, yoga, Zumba, metabolic training, and HIIT. They are all different, unique, and challenging in their own way. I want the members to walk away from my classes feeling good and wanting more.
In 2003, I graduated from Grant MacEwan for Massage Therapy. I enjoy learning and understanding the body that I had to go back to school. Since then I have been working as a RMT in the west end.
I am very passionate about fitness, lifestyle and the role that I play. I love it!
