Fitness Leader of the Month
Carla Rodriguez Dimitrescu

Carla has been nominated by her peers as Trainer of the Month. Congratulations!

Carla has a great attitude and work ethic. She is extremely passionate about her profession and this passion reflects in her dedication to her clients. Her programs are fantastic, they always look fun but challenging at the same time.

Carla is always working out in the club in the afternoon and her own workouts look very challenging. Carla runs Ultra Marathons and is currently training for The Death Race! She is a great inspiration to her clients and co-workers.

She is also an incredible nutritionist. Many of the trainers clients see Carla for nutrition. The clients that have seen Carla for nutrition are seeing amazing results! Good work Carla!

Today's Schedule
9:30 am - 10:00 am

30mins of great cardio work suitable for all levels of fitness. A range of training styles can be used (hi/lo, knockout, athletic, step, etc.) but the main focus is Cardio, Cardio, Cardio!

Wendy has been working in Group Fitness since 1996. She was inspired by her fathers dedication to his personal fitness and began exercising with friends before school in Sr. High School. She started working at SpaLady in greater Vancouver and found her passion was for group fitness. Group fitness suited her personality perfectly giving her a stage on which to move the masses to better health and fitness. Wendy’s endless energy and drive to achieve more prompted her to become a Supervisor of Instructors with the BCRPA allowing her to mentor and test instructors for their group fitness certification. Wendy eventually coordinated and mentored the Group Fitness department for SpaLady until moving home to Edmonton in 2004. She continues to instruct Group Fitness in Edmonton and surrounding areas through four pregnancies and has two daughters aged 10 and 5 and two sons aged 8 and 3, not to mention a wonderful husband who also works in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer. Wendy is an instructor of almost all forms of group fitness including, Hi/Lo, Step, Kickbox, Boot Camp, Circuit Training, Body Pump TM/Group Power TM, TRX TM, Yoga, Pilates, IFlow TM, BenderBall TM, Indoor Cycling, Stregth Training and Zumba. Fitness fills her need to socialize and meet new people. She loves to laugh and makes sure that everyone is laughing with her. She’s filled with energy and enthusiasm yet is approachable. She has a talent for getting people excited about exercising and loves to guide people to a goal and makes them eager to reach it also. Outside of the fitness arena, Wendy enjoys reading, baking and scrap booking. She’s loves to sew for family and friends and regularly makes gowns for bridal parties and graduations. She recenlty rejoined the Guiding movement this fall as a Sparks leader with her youngest daughter. As a family, the McCormick’s favorite place to be is either on Mt Baker in Washington State or Canmore, AB where they enjoy hiking and camping.

A full body workout using a variety of equipment and muscle conditioning exercises. This total body conditioning class will do just as the name says; condition the whole body for a total muscle workout!!

11:15 am - 12:15 pm

A calm and focused yoga class that concentrates on precision and alignment whilst using props to accommodate individuals. Improves balance, static strength and flexibility, whilst calming the mind and relieving stress.

Priya is a Certified and Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher E200 T200. Her demonstrated experience in the Art of Yoga spans over 15 years of teaching experience. Her passion for Yoga started in childhood, her mother being the first Guru. After practicing Yoga as an extra-curricular activity at school, Priya took formal training under renowned Yoga teachers in India. In Canada, the land of multiculturalism, Priya has had many opportunities to work with some of the best Yoga teachers in Canada. she has been awarded the Yoga Siromani certificate for completing 290 hours of yoga training from Satyaram Yoga and Reflexology clinic located at Toronto. After moving to Edmonton, took a more in depth Yoga training and certification from world famous YogaWorks. She has been teaching yoga catering to individual needs and concerns focusing on Asanas, Pranayama, Meditations, & Mudras - the hand gestures.

Priya has a gentle way of teaching Hatha Yoga that is very calming and relaxing. She carries an authentic Indian yoga taste blended with western needs. Priya always feels privileged to be a channel to spread the awareness of this beautiful philosophy of life - YOGA.

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

It is all about the Party! – Dance, shake and groove away calories in a fun dance style aerobic class that is designed to be a party! It is for everyone and it is fun, fun fun!!!

Michele has always loved dancing and when Zumba Fitness was being offered, she jumped at the chance to try it out. That was over 4 years ago and she has never looked back.

She took the plunge and became certified in 2012 so she could share her passion with others. Michele also became a certified canfitpro Fitness Instructor Specialist in September 2013 and will be taking certification as a Basic Life Support Instructor at the end of November.

Michele is excited to join the SPALADY family and looks forward to seeing you all in class.
