Today's Schedule
9:30 am - 10:00 am

Want to know the secrets to achieve amazing results like the hottest stars: Beyonce, J.Lo, and Madonna? Using Metabolic Conditioning this fabulous program will burn fat and sculpt lean muscle to help you create the celebrity body of your dreams.

I have been with SPA LADY since 1993, as a group fitness instructor and now recently club coordinator of our Century Park location. What motivates me is our members; their energy, their ability to overcome setbacks and to take that next step to their goal(s). Whatever that goal may be, I want to be there to help them achieve it. If it is just to step foot into one of our classes, that can be huge for them. Once they are in they are hooked. I am a better instructor because of them, our members challenge me to grow and develop my skills as an educator of fitness. I attend workshops, courses and education days to bring new information and workouts to them. That way we are all growing together in this industry.

I have been trained to teach a variety of styles. I enjoy teaching all of them; high/low, step, knockout, strength, bootcamp, Pilates, yoga, Zumba, metabolic training, and HIIT. They are all different, unique, and challenging in their own way. I want the members to walk away from my classes feeling good and wanting more.

In 2003, I graduated from Grant MacEwan for Massage Therapy. I enjoy learning and understanding the body that I had to go back to school. Since then I have been working as a RMT in the west end.

I am very passionate about fitness, lifestyle and the role that I play. I love it!

Shannon has been a fitness instructor since June 2009. She teaches all types of fitness classes, including step, Zumba, and strength. She is also certified to teach water fitness and cycle classes.

Shannon has a BSc. in Food Science, and worked in the food industry for several years before starting a family. She started teaching fitness classes when her children were young, and loved the flexibility of the job, as well as the opportunity it gives to interact with and influence so many people.

On a personal note, she is happily married with three children. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys running, reading, and camping.

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

A weight-training workout using a barbell and plates in the group fitness studio. It achieves maximum results and is the quickest way to get in shape. Our experienced instructors will focus on technique for safety and use their dynamic energy to power you through this amazing full body workout.

My interest in group fitness started when I was 18, where I first took a step class with my mother. My interest soon developed into a passion and I started apprenticing to be a group fitness instructor with Spa Lady in 2000. My teaching skills range from Step, to Knockout, to iron reps, to pilates. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta. My schooling as well as my passion for movement, health, and fitness allows me to assist participants reach their fitness goals!

6:00 pm - 6:45 pm

This is a resistance and cardio class IN THE GYM on our exclusive Sprint Circuit Machines. This quick effective workout provides full conditioning and cardio training for maximum results!

I am a firm believer in keeping fit & healthy. I have been a Spa Lady member for about 20 years and have always been very active enjoying many sports and activities, from water skiing to downhill skiing and swimming to biking, I'll try anything that makes me move. Last year I put three sports together & competed in the World Masters Triathlon event (swim 1.5K, bike 40K, run 10K). I came home with "GOLD".

I have been teaching group fitness since Sept 2000. I started teaching bootcamp (AT) then moved on to teach, BFL, Step, SSP, and am presently teaching Sprint Circuit, Spa Ball & Body Shop at the Heritage location. I love teaching group fitness. To see the smiles on your faces as you push yourself to your limit or as you master a new move, and as we cool down the look of accomplishment and satisfaction that fills the room. To hear your stories of weight loss, strength gained, the smaller sizes you are wearing, how much better you sleep, you feel healthier, you eat better, how much you LOVE coming to classes and most of all, that you feel so good about yourself. If you feel good about yourself everything else falls into place.

Members asked "what keeps me motivated and where do I get my energy." -I don't take my body & health for granted. It is up to me to keep it healthy and active no one else can do it for me. (At 5 yrs old a bike accident should have killed me, Dr.s amazed at recovery, developed severe asthma at 20yrs old refused to give in to it, kept active, 15yrs later Dr.s can's believe remission. -Attending fitness & nutrition conferences/courses, keeps me fresh & up to date on whats new. -I can't stop getting older, but I can choose to stay young, mind, body & soul. **YOU, the members, your enthusiasm, energy and smiles. The more you want the more I will give. There is much truth in the saying "energy breeds energy". Just come to one of my classes, you'll see!! I leave you with this, "The BODY achieves what the MIND believes". "ACHIEVING starts with BELIEVING" Believe in yourself, trust yourself.

6:35 pm - 7:35 pm

For those that love step, but are short on time this 30 minutes of pure cardio is the express way to burn calories and have fun with step choreography. Different levels of choreography will be offered to help everybody feel welcome..

The joy of moving to music and improving our health at the same time...it is something that I love sharing with others! I am so happy to be teaching group fitness again after moving to Edmonton from Virginia. I taught a variety of classes in the United States for over 10 years including all levels of step (I love creative choreography), strength/resistance, cardio box, bootcamp, hi/lo, pilates and yoga. I recently completed Zumba Basic fitness training and have been re-certified in Canada through canfitpro.

As a cancer survivor for nearly 10 years, I always try to look at every day as a gift. Life can be a like a rollercoaster! Being fit - and using the positive feelings produced from exercise! - is one of the best ways to be prepared for the ride.

I have two beautiful daughters (one still living at home), three grown step kids, and a wonderfully supportive husband, Pat.

A flowing yoga class that links postures together to create sequences. You will move smoothly from one posture to another, to create a vinyasa flow of movement.

I have been teaching yoga for 3 years and experiencing it for over a decade. I love it. Yoga allows me to step back from all the distractions of life and simply experience how I am moving, breathing, and feeling emotionally. We all experience yoga differently and falling out of tree pose, laughing, frustration, and sweat are as much part of the experience as floating up into your first handstand and touching your toes to give your spine some space. Yoga is an exploration of your body, your breath, and your thoughts so there is no rush and yoga journal isn\'t snapping a photo in class, so explore. I teach an integration of strengthening, balancing, opening, and relaxing postures along with breathing techniques to cultivate a harmonious and balanced body and mind. My agenda is to make yoga accessible to every body in the room and share the importance of being yourself in every moment and every pose. You live in your body every single moment and how you feel physically directly effects how you you live your life. As you gain strength, fluidity, and softness in the body you will bring that strength, fluidity, and softness off the mat and into each day and each interaction. As B.K.S Iyengar has said \"When health was not there, what can I think of philosophy?\" Freedom in the body allows freedom of breath and freedom of mind. Bing!
